The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 Where then will you go? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
