The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 And when the earth is spread out 3 And throws out whatever it contains and is empty, 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But he who is given the Record behind his back, 10 shall call for destruction 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 That you will climb from stage to stage. 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 And when the Quran is recited to them they do not make obeisance? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 Whereas Allah knoweth best that which they cherish. 23 So give them the good news of a painful chastisement, 24 except to those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for theirs is an unfailing recompense. 25
