This, (Quran), is certainly the revelation from the Lord of the Universe. 192 With it came down the spirit of Faith and Truth- 193 to your heart that you might become one of those who warn (others on behalf of Allah), 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 Truly, it is in the Books of the ancients. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that the learned among the Children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 And had We revealed it unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 So that he should have recited it to them, they would not have believed therein. 199 Thus do We make it traverse the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the grievous Penalty; 201 So that it will come upon them suddenly, when they perceive not. 202 Then they will exclaim, "Could we have some respite?" 203 So for Our punishment are they impatient? 204 Do you not see that even if We give them respite for years 205 and then what they were promised comes to them, 206 So of what benefit will be the comforts that they were using? 207 Never a city We destroyed, but it had warners 208 By way of admonition, and We have never been oppressors. 209 And it is not the Shayatin (devils) who have brought it (this Quran) down, 210 It is not meet for them, nor is it in their power, 211 indeed they are debarred from overhearing it. 212 So do not call any other god beside Allah lest you become of those who will be punished, 213 Warn your nearest kinsmen, 214 And take those believers under your wing who follow you. 215 If they disobey you, tell them, "I condemn your disobedient deeds". 216 And rely upon the Exalted in Might, the Merciful, 217 who sees thee when thou standest [alone,] 218 And your movements among those who bow in homage to God. 219 Verily! He, only He, is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They come down to every mendacious sinner, 222 Who gives ear (to the devils and they pour what they may have heard of the unseen from the angels), and most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets - it is the seduced who follow them. 224 Have you not seen that they wander distract in every valley, 225 and that they [so often] say what they do not do [or feel]? 226 Except those who believe and do good and remember Allah much, and defend themselves after they are oppressed; and they who act unjustly shall know to what final place of turning they shall turn back. 227
