HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Hath he knowledge of the Unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or, has he not been told of that which is in the Scrolls of Moses 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another- 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 and that with thy Sustainer is the beginning and the end [of all that exists]; 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 And that He creates the two mates - the male and female - 45 of a sperm-drop, when it was cast forth, 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); 49 And that He destroyed the first [people of] 'Aad 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 And the folk of Noah aforetime, Lo! they were more unjust and more rebellious; 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 He (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 There is no one to unveil it apart from God. 58 Will you, then, wonder at this? 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 And ye are behaving proudly. 61 Prostrate yourselves before God, and worship Him alone! ۩ 62
