The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 and what could make you know what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
