The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the night when it covers the day, 1 and the day in splendour 2 Consider the creation of the male and the female! 3 you strive in various ways. 4 Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him. 5 and affirmed the Truth of goodness: 6 We will facilitate for him the easy end. 7 But he who is a greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient, 8 And gives the lie to Al-Husna (see Verse No: 6 footnote); 9 We will facilitate for him the difficult end. 10 His wealth will not avail him when he falls into ruin. 11 Surely Ours is it to show the way, 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 I have now warned you of the Blazing Fire, 14 none shall enter it but the most wicked, 15 who have rejected the (Truth) and have turned away from it. 16 But the righteous one will avoid it - 17 [He] who gives [from] his wealth to purify himself 18 And no one has done a favour to him, for which he should be compensated. 19 He desires only to please his Lord, the Supreme. 20 Will surely be gratified. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
