T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ O MAN! 1 We have not sent down the Koran upon thee for thee to be unprosperous, 2 But as admonition for him who fears -- 3 Sent down by One Who created the earth and the lofty heavens. 4 The Most Compassionate Lord is settled on the Throne (of the Universe). 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth, and all that lies between them, and underneath the soil. 6 Whether you speak out aloud (or in a low voice), He knows what is said secretly, and even that which is most hidden. 7 God - there is no deity save Him; His [alone] are the attributes of perfection! 8 Have you heard the story of Moses? 9 When he saw a fire and said unto his folk: Lo! Wait! I see a fire afar off. Peradventure I may bring you a brand therefrom or may find guidance at the fire. 10 When he reached it, he was called: 'O Moses, 11 Verily, I am thy Sustainer! Take off, then, thy sandals! Behold, thou art in the twice hallowed valley, 12 and I have chosen thee [to be My apostle]: listen, then, to what is being revealed [unto thee]. 13 Lo! I, even I, am Allah, There is no Allah save Me. So serve Me and establish worship for My remembrance. 14 Lo! the Hour is surely coming. But I will to keep it hidden, that every soul may be rewarded for that which it striveth (to achieve). 15 "Therefore, let not the one who believes not therein (i.e. in the Day of Resurrection, Reckoning, Paradise and Hell, etc.), but follows his own lusts, divert you therefrom, lest you perish. 16 "And what is that in your right hand, O Musa (Moses)?" 17 He said: This is my staff: I recline on it and I beat the leaves with it to make them fall upon my sheep, and I have other uses for it. 18 God said, "Moses, cast it down." 19 So he cast it down, and lo! it was a serpent running along. 20 Then He said: "Seize it and have no fear. We shall restore it to its former state. 21 Now clasp thy hand to thy arm-pit; it shall come forth white, without evil. That is a second sign. 22 so that We might make thee aware of some of Our greatest wonders. 23 And go to Pharaoh now for he has transgressed all bounds." 24
