The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 Of the mighty Announcement, 2 About which they are in disagreement. 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 Nay, again, they will come to know! 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 and fixed the mountains like pegs, 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep a rest. 9 And have made the night as a covering (through its darkness), 10 And made the day for livelihood 11 Have We not made seven strong heavens above you, 12 and have placed [therein the sun,] a lamp full of blazing splendour. 13 And We sent down rain from water-laden clouds pouring in torrents 14 that We may bring forth with it grain, plants 15 and gardens dense with foliage. 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts, 18 And the heaven is opened and will become gateways 19 The mountains will be driven away and become like mirages. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 It will be a place of return 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 Therein taste they neither coolness nor (any) drink 24 But boiling and intensely cold water, 25 Recompense fitted! 26 Indeed they had no fear of the account. 27 And denied Our verses with [emphatic] denial. 28 However, We have recorded everything in a book. 29 So taste! for We will not add to you aught but chastisement. 30
