The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness the sky (bespangled) with the signs of the Zodiac, 1 by the promised day, 2 And by the Day witnessing and the Day witnessed, 3 Cursed be the makers of the pit, 4 with fire abounding in fuel, 5 When they sat by it 6 fully conscious of what they are doing to the believers, 7 And they resented them not except because they believed in Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy, 8 To Him only belongs the kingship of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness over all things. 9 Indeed, those who have tortured the believing men and believing women and then have not repented will have the punishment of Hell, and they will have the punishment of the Burning Fire. 10 Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great attainment. 11 Verily the grip of thine Lord is severe. 12 Behold, it is He who creates [man] in the first instance, and He [it is who] will bring him forth anew. 13 And He alone is truly-forgiving, all-embracing in His love, 14 Master of the Honourable Throne. 15 Doer (without let) of all that He intends. 16 Hath there come unto thee the story of the hosts 17 the armies of Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Yet the unbelievers still belie, 19 Allah encompasses them all from behind. 20 Aye! it is a Recitation glorious, 21 In a guarded tablet. 22
