Al-A 'araaf 12 of 24

We sent no Prophet to a village but seized its inhabitants with misfortune and adversity in order that they might be humble in supplication. 94 Then We changed the misfortune into prosperity to the extent that they became numerous and said, “Indeed grief and comfort did reach our ancestors” – so We seized them suddenly in their neglect. 95 And if only the people of the cities had believed and feared Allah, We would have opened upon them blessings from the heaven and the earth; but they denied [the messengers], so We seized them for what they were earning." 96 Did the people of the towns feel secure against the coming of Our wrath by night while they were asleep? 97 Or did the people of the cities feel secure from Our punishment coming to them in the morning while they were at play? 98 Did they then feel secure against the Plan of Allah. None feels secure from the Plan of Allah except the people who are the losers. 99
