NOW, VERILY, it is We who have created man, and We know what his innermost self whispers within him: for We are closer to him than his neck-vein. 16 [And so,] whenever the two demands [of his nature] come face to face, contending from the right and from the left, 17 Not a word does he (or she) utter, but there is a watcher by him ready (to record it). 18 and (the human being will be told), "This is what you had been trying to run away from". 19 And then the Trumpet was blown. This is the day of the promised chastisement. 20 And there shall come every soul therewith shall be a driver and a witness. 21 Certainly you were heedless of it, but now We have removed from you your veil, so your sight today is sharp. 22 And his Companion will say: "Here is (his Record) ready with me!" 23 (They will be told,) "Throw into hell every persistent disbelievers, 24 Hinderer of good, trespasser, doubter 25 Who made [as equal] with Allah another deity; then throw him into the severe punishment." 26 ۞ His satanic companion will say, "Our Lord, I did not mislead him, but he himself went astray". 27 He saith: Contend not in My presence, when I had already proffered unto you the warning. 28 The Sentence that comes from Me cannot be changed, and I am not unjust (to the least) to the slaves." 29
