Has there come to you information about the honored guests of Ibrahim? 24 When they came to him saying, "Peace be with you," he replied to their greeting in the same manner and said to himself, "These are a strange people". 25 So he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf. 26 And he set it before them, and said: wherefore eat ye not? 27 He began to feel afraid. They said, "Do not be afraid," and then gave him the glad news of the birth of a knowledgeable son. 28 Then his wife came forward with a loud voice, she smote her face, and said: "A barren old woman!" 29 They said, "This is true but your Lord has said, (that you will have a son); He is All-wise and All-knowing". 30 ۞ [Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?" 31 They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people, 32 to let loose upon them stone-hard blows of chastisement, 33 marked by your Lord upon those who go beyond the limits.” 34 Then We brought forth such as were therein of the believers. 35 And We found not therein more than one house of the Muslims. 36 And so We left therein a message for those who fear the grievous suffering [which awaits all evildoers]. 37 There is also evidence (of the Truth) in the story of Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 Then he turned away with his court, and said: a magician or a madman. 39 So We seized him and his hosts and flung them in the sea, for he was reprobate. 40 And in 'A-ad also was a lesson, when We sent against them the barren wind. 41 It spared naught that it reached, but made it (all) as dust. 42 And in Thamood it was said to them: 'Take your enjoyment for awhile' 43 But they brazenly disobeyed their Lord's command, and then a sudden chastisement overtook them while they looked on. 44 for they were unable even to rise, and could not defend themselves. 45 And the people of Nuh before, surely they were a transgressing people. 46
