Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 And those winds that bring down the remembrance. 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 So when stars are effaced. 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 which We then placed in a secure repository 21 for an appointed time? 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water. 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 Depart to that you cried was lies! 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 Nor given leave to make excuses. 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 40
