The News (Al-Naba')
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ What are they questioning each other about? 1 About the great tidings! 2 About which they differ? 3 But they will soon come to know. 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth a resting place? 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And We have created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep for rest, 9 and the night as a cover, 10 And made the day for livelihood 11 And We have built above you seven firmaments, 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water 14 Thereby to produce grain and plant, 15 And gardens of thick growth. 16 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] has indeed its appointed time: 17 The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds (groups); 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 for the insolent a resort, 22 where they shall remain for ages, 23 tasting therein neither coolness nor any drink 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 a befitting recompense for their deeds. 26 Indeed they had no fear of the account. 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 Therefore taste it now – We shall not increase anything for you except the punishment. 30
