Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is cleft asunder. 1 When the Stars are scattered; 2 when the seas swarm over, 3 When the graves are overturned, 4 A soul will know what it hath sent before (it) and what left behind. 5 O man! What has deceived you away from your Lord, the Most Beneficent? 6 Who created you then formed your symmetry, then gave you right proportion, 7 Into whatever form He pleased He constituted you. 8 Nay! But you deny the Recompense (reward for good deeds and punishment for evil deeds). 9 And indeed there are some guardians over you. 10 noble, recording, 11 who know whatever you do. 12 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 13 whereas the wicked will be in Hell; 14 roasting in it on the Day of Recompense 15 And thence they shall not be allowed to be absent. 16 And what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? 17 How then can you comprehend what the Day of Judgement is? 18 (It will be) the Day when no soul shall have power (to do) aught for another: For the command, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. 19
