The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO witness the sky (bespangled) with the signs of the Zodiac, 1 and by the promised Day, 2 And by the witnessing day (i.e. Friday), and by the witnessed day [i.e. the day of 'Arafat (Hajj) the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah]; 3 Cursed be the makers of the pit, 4 with fire abounding in fuel, 5 When they were sitting at its edge. 6 And they themselves are witnesses to what they were doing to the Muslims! 7 The only reason for which they tormented the believers was the latter's belief in God, the Majestic, and Praiseworthy. 8 Whose kingdom spreads over the heavens and the earth. God is witness over everything. 9 Those who persecute (or draw into temptation) the Believers, men and women, and do not turn in repentance, will have the Penalty of Hell: They will have the Penalty of the Burning Fire. 10 Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success. 11 The grip of your Lord is severe indeed! 12 He it is Who creates for the first time and He it is Who will create again, 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 Lord of the Throne, the Glorious, 15 The great doer of what He will. 16 Hath there come unto thee the story of the hosts 17 of Pharaoh and of Thamood? 18 And yet, they who are bent on denying the truth persist in giving it the lie: 19 And Allah, all unseen, surroundeth them. 20 What is revealed to you is certainly a glorious Quran 21 inscribed on a well-guarded Tablet. 22
Almighty God's Truth.
