Al-Balad
The Town (Al-Balad)
20 verses, revealed in Mecca after Q (Qaaf) before The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by this city, Makkah - 1 And you, [O Muhammad], are free of restriction in this city - 2 or by the great father and his wonderful son (Abraham and Ishmael) 3 We verily have created man in an atmosphere: 4 Does he think then that no one has power over him? 5 He saith: I have wasted riches plenteous. 6 Does man think that no one saw him? 7 Have We not given him two eyes, 8 And a tongue and two lips? 9 and shown him the two paths? 10 Yet he attempteth not the steep, 11 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Ascent is! - 12 It is freeing the neck, 13 Or the feeding on a day of hunger. 14 of an orphan near of kin, 15 Or the poor in distress; 16 so that he becomes one of those who believe, charge each other to be patient, and charge each other to be merciful. 17 These are the People of the Right Hand. 18 and [as for] those who are bent on denying the truth of Our revelations, they are the people of the left hand, 19 Fire will be an awning over them. 20
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
