The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO witness those who stand arrayed in rows, 1 And those who drive [the clouds] 2 and by the reciters of the Reminder: 3 Indeed, your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth, and of what between them is Lord of the Easts. 5 We have indeed adorned the lowest heaven with stars as ornaments. 6 With security from every froward devil. 7 [so that] they [who seek to learn the unknowable] should not be able to overhear the host on high, but shall be repelled from all sides, 8 Repulsed, for they are under a perpetual penalty, 9 Except one who sometimes steals a part, so a blazing flame goes after him. 10 Then inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Are they a stronger [or more difficult] creation or those [others] We have created?" Indeed, We created men from sticky clay. 11 Nay, but thou dost marvel when they mock 12 When they are reminded, they do not pay heed, 13 and whenever they see some sign, they ridicule it, 14 and say: “This is nothing but plain sorcery. 15 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we be resurrected. 16 and perhaps also our forebears of old?" 17 Say: "Yea, indeed - and most abject will you then be!" 18 So it shall only be a single cry, when lo! they shall see. 19 They will say, "Woe to us!" (They will be told), "This is the day of receiving recompense". 20 'This is the Day of Decision, even that you cried lies to. 21
