Elucidated (Fussilat)

54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Ha. Mim. 1 A Revelation from (Allah), Most Gracious, Most Merciful;- 2 A Book, whereof the verses are explained in detail;- a Qur'an in Arabic, for people who understand;- 3 Giving good news and admonition: yet most of them turn away, and so they hear not. 4 And they say: our hearts are under veils from that whereunto thou callest us, and in our ears there is heaviness, and betwixt us and thee there is a curtain; work thou then, verily we are workers. 5 Say: I am only a mortal like you; it is revealed to me that your Allah is one Allah, therefore follow the right way to Him and ask His forgiveness; and woe to the polytheists; 6 [and] those who do not spend in charity: for it is they, they who [thus] deny the truth of the life to come! 7 The righteously striving believers will have a never-ending reward". 8
