Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Have you heard about the Overwhelming Event? 1 On that day (many) faces will be downcast, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 watered at a boiling fountain, 5 No food will there be for them but a poisonous thorny plant, 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 [And] some faces will on that Day shine with bliss, 8 Well-pleased because of their striving, 9 In a lofty garden, 10 They shall hear therein no vain discourse; 11 Therein shall be a spring running! 12 raised couches, 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 how the heavens are raised up high, 18 And the hills, how they are set up? 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 So render good counsel, for you are simply required to counsel, 21 Thou art not at all a warder over them. 22 Other than him who turns his back and denies, 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 Verily unto Us is their return. 25 Then it will be for Us to call them to account. 26
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
