Why do you worship that which neither sees nor hears, and which can be of no avail to you? 42 Father, I have received the knowledge which has not been given to you. Follow me; I shall guide you to the right path. 43 “O my father, do not be a bondman of the devil; indeed the devil is disobedient towards the Most Gracious.” 44 Father, I am afraid that the Beneficent God's torment will strike you and you will become a friend of satan." 45 He said: Rejectest thou my gods, O Abraham? If thou cease not, I shall surely stone thee. Depart from me a long while! 46 [Abraham] replied: "Peace be upon thee! I shall ask my Sustainer to forgive thee: for, behold, He has always been kind unto me. 47 Now I will go away from you and that you call upon, other than Allah. I will call on my Lord. Perhaps I shall not be unblessed in calling my Lord' 48 When (Abraham) rejected his people and what they worshipped instead of God, We gave him Isaac and Jacob and made both of them Prophets. 49 And We bestowed of Our Mercy on them, and We granted them lofty honour on the tongue of truth. 50
