Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ BLESSED BE HE who holds the (reins of) Kingship in His hand, who has power over everything, 1 He Who created Death and Life, that He may try which of you is best in deed: and He is the Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving;- 2 Who hath created seven heavens in storeys. Thou shalt not behold in the Compassionate's creation any over-sight; then repeat thy look, beholdest thou any crack? 3 Then return [your] vision twice again. [Your] vision will return to you humbled while it is fatigued. 4 And We have certainly beautified the nearest heaven with stars and have made [from] them what is thrown at the devils and have prepared for them the punishment of the Blaze. 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord will be the torment of Hell; and a hapless destination! 6 When they are thrown into it, they hear from it a [dreadful] inhaling while it boils up. 7 As though it would burst with fury. Every time a crowd is thrown into it, its wardens will ask: "Did no warner come to you?" 8 They will say: yea! surely there came a warner unto us, but we belied, and said: God hath not sent down aught, we are naught but in a great error. 9 And they will then say: 'If only we had listened and understood we should not now be among the inhabitants of the Blaze' 10 So they shall acknowledge their sins, but far will be (forgiveness) from the inmates of the burning fire. 11 Indeed for those who fear their Lord without seeing is forgiveness, and a great reward. 12 And whether ye hide your word or publish it, He certainly has (full) knowledge, of the secrets of (all) hearts. 13 Shall He not know, who created? And He is the All-subtle, the All-aware. 14
