The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ [The time of] their account has approached for the people, while they are in heedlessness turning away. 1 There comes not to them a new reminder from their Lord but they hear it while they sport, 2 Their minds are lost in frivolous pastimes; and the evil-doers discuss secretly: "Is he not but only a man like you? Then why are you taken in by magic seeingly?" 3 Say, "My Lord knows every word spoken in the heavens and on the earth. He is All Hearing, All Knowing." 4 Nay, but they say: 'A hotchpotch of nightmares! Nay, he has forged it; nay, he is a poet! Now therefore let him bring us a sign, even as the ancient ones were sent as Messengers.' 5 There did not believe before them any town which We destroyed, will they then believe? 6 Never did We send a message before you but through a man, whom We inspired. If you do not know, then ask the keepers of the oracles of God. 7 nor did We fashion them as bodies that ate not food, neither were they immortal; 8 Then We made good unto them the promise; so We delivered them and those whom We willed, and We destroyed the extravagant. 9 And assuredly We have sent down unto you a Book wherein is admonition for you; will ye not then reflect? 10
