And said the leaders of his people, who disbelieved and denied the confronting of the Hereafter – and We had given them comfort in the worldly life – that, “He is nothing but a human like you, he eats from what you eat and drinks from what you drink.” 33 And were ye to obey a human being like you, ye are forthwith to be losers. 34 Does he promise you that when you die and have become dust and bones, that you will be brought forth again? 35 ۞ What you are promised is indeed far-fetched. 36 There is naught but our life in this world; we die and we live and we shall not be raised again. 37 "He is only a man who invents a lie against Allah, but we are not the ones to believe in him!" 38 He said: O my Lord! help me against their calling me a liar. 39 (Allah) said: "In but a little while, they are sure to be sorry!" 40 So they were rightly seized by a mighty blast; and We turned them into mouldy rubbish: A good riddance of the wicked people! 41 Then We raised after them other generations. 42 Every nation has an appointed life span. 43 Then We sent Our Messengers in succession. Whenever a Messenger came to his people they rejected him, calling him a liar. Thereupon, We made each people to follow the other (to its doom), reducing them to mere tales (of the past). Scourged be the people who do not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and a clear authority 45 To Pharaoh and his Chiefs: But these behaved insolently: they were an arrogant people. 46 And said: "Should we believe in two men like yourselves, whose people are our subjects?" 47 So they rejected them both, and became those who were destroyed. 48 And assuredly We vouchsafed unto Musa the Book, that haply they may be guided. 49 And We made the son of Maryam (Prophet Eisa) and his mother a sign, and We gave them shelter on a height, a place to stay and visible springs. 50
