The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 arise and warn, 2 Thy Lord magnify 3 And your garments purify! 4 And uncleanness do shun, 5 And do not through giving seek thyself to gain, 6 Exercise patience to please your Lord. 7 Finally, when the Trumpet is sounded, 8 that Day will be a hard and distressing Day. 9 Dolorous for the unbelievers. 10 Leave Me alone with he whom I created 11 and appointed for him ample wealth 12 And sons to be by his side!- 13 and for whom I have smoothed the way (to power and riches), 14 Yet he wants that I should give him more. 15 Nay! Verily, he has been stubborn and opposing Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.). 16 I shall inflict on him hardship, 17 Surely he reflected and guessed, 18 And woe to him! How he plotted!- 19 And once more let him be cursed, how he plotted! 20 Then he considered [again]; 21 Then he frowned and he looked in a bad tempered way; 22 then he retreated and grew proud 23 said, "This (the Quran) is nothing but magic, inherited from ancient magicians. 24 This is naught else than speech of mortal man. 25 I will cast him into Hell-fire 26 And what will explain to thee what Hell-Fire is? 27 It lets nothing remain and leaves nothing [unburned], 28 scorching the flesh; 29 Above it are nineteen guards. 30 We have appointed none but angels to guard the Fire, and made their number only as a trial for the unbelievers, so that those to whom the Book was given are certain and those who believe increase in belief. And that those who were given the Book, and those who believe will not be in doubt. And that those in whose hearts there is a sickness, together with the unbelievers, may say: 'What did Allah intend by this as an example' As such, Allah leaves in error whom He will and He guides whomsoever He will. None knows the hosts of your Lord except He. This is no more than a Reminder to humans. 31
