The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars darken, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 and when the blazing fire [of hell] is kindled bright, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 where then are you going? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
