Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Perish the hands of AbiLahab, and perish he! 1 His wealth and gains will not exempt him. 2 [In the life to come] he shall have to endure a fire fiercely glowing; 3 And his wife, the portress of fire wood, 4 Will have upon her neck a halter of palm-fibre. 5

True are the words of God the Almighty.
