Al-Hijjr 3 of 6
Surely We brought man into being out of dry ringing clay which was wrought from black mud, 26 And the jinn We created before from scorching fire. 27 When your Lord said to the angels, "I will create the human being out of pure mud-moulded clay. 28 Then when I have formed him and breathed into him of My Spirit fall down unto him prostrate. 29 So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together. 30 except Iblis who refused to join with the others in prostration. 31 (Allah) said: "O Iblis (Satan)! What is your reason for not being among the prostrators?" 32 He replied, "I am not one to prostrate myself to a man whom You have created out of a clay of moulded mud." 33 God said, "Then get out of here; for you are accursed, 34 and there shall be a curse upon you till the Day of Recompense." 35 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Give me then respite till the Day they (the dead) will be resurrected." 36 Allah said: verily then thou art of the respited: 37 till the Day the time whereof is known [to Me alone]." 38 He said: my Lord! because Thou hast led me to err I will surely make things fairseeming unto them on the earth and will surely seduce them all: 39 Except, among them, Your chosen servants." 40 God said, "This is the path which leads straight to Me. 41 over My servants thou shalt have no authority, except those that follow thee, 42 And verily Hell is the place promised unto them all. 43 It has seven gates, and through each gate a portion of them belong. 44

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
