Thamud denied the warning 23 They said: 'Are we to follow a mortal who is one of us? Then indeed, we would surely be in error and insane. 24 Was there none but he to whom the Reminder could be vouchsafed excluding all others? Nay; he is an insolent liar.” 25 (We told Our Messenger): “Tomorrow they shall know who is the insolent liar. 26 For We will send the she-camel by way of trial for them. So watch them, (O Salih), and possess thyself in patience! 27 "And inform them that the water is to be shared between them; only those may come whose turn it is." 28 But they called their comrade and he took (a sword) and killed (her). 29 How then were My chastisement and My warnings? 30 Verily We, We sent upon them one shout, and they became as the stubble of a fold-builder. 31 Hence, indeed, We made this Qur'an easy to bear in mind: who, then, is willing to take it to heart? 32 The people of Lout (Lot) belied the warnings. 33 Verily, We sent against them a violent storm of stones (which destroyed them all), except the family of Lout (Lot), whom We saved in last hour of the night, 34 As a favour from Us. Thus We recompense him who giveth thanks. 35 And indeed he had warned them of Our seizure - in response they doubted the warnings. 36 And they had demanded from him his guests, but We obliterated their eyes, [saying], "Taste My punishment and warning." 37 Indeed an abiding chastisement came upon them in the morning. 38 "Then taste you My Torment and My Warnings." 39 We have made the Koran an easy Remembrance, is there any that will remember! 40
