In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
O thou wrapped up in thy raiment! 1 Rise to pray in the night except a little, 2 half the night, or a little less 3 or add to it [at will]; and [during that time] recite the Qur'an calmly and distinctly, with thy mind attuned to its meaning. 4 Verily, We shall send down to you a weighty Word (i.e. obligations, legal laws, etc.). 5 Indeed, the hours of the night are more effective for concurrence [of heart and tongue] and more suitable for words. 6 Verily there is for thee by day occupation prolonged. 7 Remember the name of your Lord, and devote yourself to Him wholeheartedly. 8 He is the Lord of the east and the west, there is no deity but Him, so take Him as your Guardian. 9 And patiently endure upon what the disbelievers say, and leave them for good. 10 Leave to Me those who belie, those who lead a life of pleasure, and bear with them yet a little while. 11 Surely with Us are heavy fetters and a flaming fire, 12 And food that chokes and a painful punishment - 13 On the Day when the earth with all its mountains quake and the mountains become heaps of shifting sand. 14 Surely We have sent to you a Messenger as a witness over you, just as We had sent a Messenger to Pharaoh. 15 In response Firaun disobeyed the Noble Messenger, so We seized him with a severe seizure. 16 If therefore you disbelieve, how will you guard yourselves against a day that shall make the children grey-headed? 17 Whereon the sky will be cleft asunder? His Promise needs must be accomplished. 18 This is indeed a Reminder. Let whosoever will take the Path to his Lord. 19

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
