In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Alif Lam Mim 1 These are verses of the wise Book, 2 for a guidance and a mercy to the good-doers 3 Those who keep the prayer established and pay the charity and accept faith in the Hereafter. 4 It is they who are on guidance from their Lord, and only they are the successful. 5 (In an attempt to show that God's revelations are only ancient legends) some people pay for meaningless tales to draw others attention away from the Quran without knowledge and treat as a matter of fun. They will suffer a humiliating torment. 6 And when Our verses are recited to him he haughtily turns away as if he did not hear them – as if there is deafness in his ears; so give him the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 7 Lo! those who believe and do good works, for them are the gardens of delight, 8 In which they will abide; it is a true promise of Allah; and only He is the Almighty, the Wise. 9 He has created the heavens without any pillars, that you see and has set on the earth firm mountains, lest it should shake with you. And He has scattered therein moving (living) creatures of all kinds. And We send down water (rain) from the sky, and We cause (plants) of every goodly kind to grow therein. 10 This is God's creation; now show me what those have created that are apart from Him! Nay, but the evildoers are in manifest error. 11
