Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Ha-Mim. 1 THE BESTOWAL from on high [of this revelation] issues from the Most Gracious, the Dispenser of Grace: 2 a Book whose revelations are well expounded, an Arabic Quran for people who possess knowledge, 3 A herald of good news and a warner, but most of them turn aside so they hear not. 4 And they say, “Our hearts are covered against the affair you call us to, and there is deafness in our ears, and there is a barrier between us and you – therefore mind your own business, we are minding ours.” 5 Say (Prophet Muhammad): 'I am only a human like you, to whom it is revealed that your God is One God. Therefore be straight with Him and ask Him to forgive you. Woe to the idolaters, 6 who pay not the alms, and disbelieve in the world to come. 7 For those who believe and work deeds of righteousness is a reward that will never fail. 8
