The Human (Al-Insan)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Has there [not] come upon man a period of time when he was not a thing [even] mentioned? 1 We created the human being from the union of sperm and egg to test him. We gave him hearing and vision. 2 Verily, We have shown him the way: [and it rests with him to prove himself] either grateful or ungrateful. 3 Verily, We have prepared for the disbelievers iron chains, iron collars, and a blazing Fire. 4 Verily, the Abrar (pious, who fear Allah and avoid evil), shall drink a cup (of wine) mixed with water from a spring in Paradise called Kafur. 5 a source [of bliss] whereof God's servants shall drink, seeing it flow in a flow abundant. 6 The servants of God fulfill their vows and are afraid of the day in which there will be widespread terror. 7 And feed the needy for the love of Him, and the orphans and the captives, 8 (Saying): "We feed you for the sake of God, desiring neither recompense nor thanks. 9 We fear the dismal day calamitous from our Lord." 10 So Allah will save them from the evil of that Day and has secured for them radiance and joyfulness, 11 For their patience, He will reward them with Paradise and silk. 12 Reclining therein on raised couches, they shall find therein neither (the severe heat of) the sun nor intense cold. 13 The shades of Paradise will bend over them, and its fruits will be brought within their easy reach; 14 They will be served with silver dishes and crystal clear goblets. 15 and gleaming silver goblets which have been filled to the exact measure, 16 And they will be given to drink there of a Cup (of Wine) mixed with Zanjabil,- 17 (The water of) a spring therein, named Salsabil. 18 ۞ There will circulate among them young boys made eternal. When you see them, you would think them [as beautiful as] scattered pearls. 19 When thou seest, thou wilt see there bliss and high estate. 20 In it they adorn clothes of fine green silk and gold embroidery; and they are given silver bracelets to wear; and their Lord gave them pure wine to drink. 21 It will be said to them, “This is your reward – indeed your efforts have been appreciated.” 22
