The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Of what do they ask one another? 1 They quarrel about the great news 2 concerning which they are in disagreement! 3 No indeed; they shall soon know! 4 Surely, they will soon find out the truth! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 The mountains tent-pins? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And have appointed your sleep for repose, 9 And made the night as a covering, 10 and We appointed day for a livelihood. 11 And constructed above you seven strong [heavens] 12 and placed in them a blazing lamp 13 And then sent down hard rain from the water bearing clouds. 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 and gardens dense with foliage. 16 Surely the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 The day the trumpet blast is sounded you will come in hordes; 18 and when the skies are opened and become [as wide-flung] gates; 19 And the mountains shall vanish, as if they were a mirage. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 In which they will remain for ages [unending]. 23 and where they will taste neither coolness nor any drink 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 as a fitting recompense for their deeds. 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 and they cried loud lies to Our signs; 28 Everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 'Taste! We shall increase you not save in chastisement.' 30

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
