Al-Aadeyaat

The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

(I swear) by the snorting chargers (of the warriors), whose hoofs strike against the rocks 1 Striking sparks of fire (by their hooves), 2 Then those charging in the morning 3 So thereupon raising dust. 4 Cleaving, as one, the centre (of the foe), 5 Surely Man is ungrateful to his Lord, 6 And lo! he is a witness unto that; 7 Surely he is passionate in his love for good things. 8 ۞ Is he not aware that when whatever lies (buried) in the graves is overthrown; 9 and that which is in the breasts is brought out -- 10 surely on that day their Lord shall be aware of them! 11

True are the words of God the Almighty.
