The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by those who draw themselves out in ranks 1 and the drivers driving, 2 By those (angels) who bring the Book and the Quran from Allah to mankind [Tafsir Ibn Kathir]. 3 Lo! thy Lord is surely One; 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all that is between them, and Lord of the sun's risings. 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the planets, 6 And have placed therein a guard against any satan froward. 7 They cannot listen to the exalted assembly and they are thrown at from every side, 8 They are rejected and theirs is an everlasting punishment; 9 Except him who snatcheth away a word by stealth, and him then pursueth a glowing flame. 10 Then ask them (i.e. these polytheists, O Muhammad SAW): "Are they stronger as creation, or those (others like the heavens and the earth and the mountains, etc.) whom We have created?" Verily, We created them of a sticky clay. 11 Yet while you are filled with wonder, they just scoff; 12 When they are reminded, they do not pay heed, 13 And when they see a sign they incite one another to scoff, 14 and say: 'This is nothing but clear sorcery' 15 "What! When we have died and become dust and bones, will we be brought back to life again, 16 Or our fathers of yore? 17 Say: 'Yes, but worthless' 18 There will be a single stern rebuff and lo, they will be observing with their own eyes (all that they had been warned against). 19 and they will say: 'Woe for us. This is the Day of Recompense' 20 'This is the Day of Decision, even that you cried lies to. 21
