Al-Saaffaat 4 of 5
And We verily gave grace unto Moses and Aaron, 114 and We saved them with their nation from a great distress. 115 And We succoured them so that they became overcomers. 116 And We gave them the clear Scripture 117 and showed them the Straight Way, 118 and preserved for them a good name among posterity. 119 "Peace upon Moses and Aaron." 120 Thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 121 Indeed, they were of Our believing servants. 122 Elijah too was one of the messengers. 123 (Call to mind) when he said to his people: “Will you not fear Allah? 124 Will you invoke Baal and forsake [God,] the best of artisans 125 “Allah – Who is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers?” 126 Then they belied him, so verily they are to be brought up. 127 except the sincere servants of God. 128 We perpetuated his praise in the later generations. 129 Peace be on Elias. 130 Thus do We reward the good-doers. 131 He was one of Our believing servants. 132 And lo! Lot verily was of those sent (to warn). 133 We saved him and all his people, 134 Except an old woman who was among those who lagged behind: 135 Then We destroyed the rest [i.e. the towns of Sodom at the place of the Dead Sea (now) in Palestine]. [See the "Book of History" by Ibn Kathir]. 136 You pass by their ruins morning 137 Or at night. Then how is it you do not understand? 138
