Commemorate Our Servant Job. Behold he cried to his Lord: "The Evil One has afflicted me with distress and suffering!" 41 (We commanded him): “Stamp your foot on earth, and here is cool water to wash with and to drink.” 42 We restored to him his family and like those with them, a mercy from Us and a reminder to a nation that understand. 43 [And finally We told him:] "Now take in thy hand a small bunch of grass, and strike therewith, and thou wilt not break thine oath!" for, verily, We found him full of patience in adversity: how excellent a servant [of Ours,] who, behold, would always turn unto Us! 44 Also, remember Our worshipers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, those of might and vision. 45 Surely We purified them by a pure quality, the keeping in mind of the (final) abode. 46 And verily they are with us of the elect of the excellent ones. 47 And commemorate Isma'il, Elisha, and Zul-Kifl: Each of them was of the Company of the Good. 48 This is a Message (of admonition): and verily, for the righteous, is a beautiful Place of (Final) Return,- 49 Gardens Everlasting, whereof the portals remain opened for them. 50 wherein they will recline, [and] wherein they may [freely] call for many a fruit and drink, 51 ۞ having beside them well-matched mates of modest gaze." 52 This is what is promised you for the Day of Reckoning. 53 Indeed this is Our sustenance, which will never end. 54 However, the rebellious ones will have the worst place to return. 55 Hell!- they will burn therein, - an evil bed (indeed, to lie on)!- 56 This - let them taste it: scalding water and corruption. 57 and other torments of the like kind coupled together. 58 (We shall say to their leaders): 'This is a troop rushing in with you, there is no welcome for them, they shall roast in the Fire' 59 (The followers shall cry to the misleaders:) "Nay, ye (too)! No welcome for you! It is ye who have brought this upon us! Now evil is (this) place to stay in!" 60 They will say: "O Lord, give him who has brought this upon us two times more the torment of Hell;" 61 And they will say: "What has happened to us that we see not men whom we used to number among the bad ones? 62 Did we take them as an object of mockery, or have (our) eyes failed to perceive them?" 63 Verily this is the very truth: the wrangling of the fellows of the Fire! 64
