Observest thou not those who wrangle concerning the revelations of Allah? whither are they turning away! 69 Those who gave the lie to this Book and all the Books which We had sent with Our Messengers shall soon come to know the Truth 70 when they shall have to carry the shackles and chains [of their own making] around their necks, 71 In boiling water; they will then be ignited* in the fire. (Like fuel – see verse 2:24) 72 It will then be said to them: “Where are those whom you 73 Beside Allah? They say: They have failed us; but we used not to pray to anything before. Thus doth Allah send astray the disbelievers (in His guidance). 74 That is because you exulted in the land unjustly and because you behaved insolently. 75 Enter ye the gates of Hell as abiders therein. Hapless is the abode of the stiff-necked. 76 Therefore be patient (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), undoubtedly Allah’s promise is true; and whether We show some of what We promise them, or cause you to pass away before it – in any case they will return to Us. 77 And We have already sent messengers before you. Among them are those [whose stories] We have related to you, and among them are those [whose stories] We have not related to you. And it was not for any messenger to bring a sign [or verse] except by permission of Allah. So when the command of Allah comes, it will be concluded in truth, and the falsifiers will thereupon lose [all]. 78
