Has it, then, not become obvious unto those who have inherited the earth in the wake of former generations that, if We so willed, We could smite them [too] by means of their sins, sealing their hearts so that they cannot hear [the truth]? 100 Those were the towns whose story We relate unto you (O Muhammad SAW). And there came indeed to them their Messengers with clear proofs, but they were not such as to believe in that which they had rejected before. Thus Allah does seal up the hearts of the disbelievers (from each and every kind of religious guidance). 101 We did not find most of them true to their covenants; indeed We found most of them to be transgressors. 102 After them We sent Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his chiefs. But they willfully rejected them. Consider the end of the evil-doers. 103 Moses said: "O Pharaoh, I have been sent by the Lord of all the worlds; 104 "I am duty bound to speak nothing of God but the truth I have brought from your Lord a clear sign; so let the people of Israel depart with me." 105 [Pharaoh] said, "If you come with a sign, then produce it, if you are telling the truth." 106 Therefore Moosa put down his staff – it immediately turned into a visible python. 107 and he drew forth his hand, and lo! it appeared [shining] white to the beholders. 108
