So when the apostles came to Lut's followers, 61 He said, “You are an unfamiliar people.” 62 "We have come to you with news," they said, "of what your people doubt; 63 "We have brought to thee that which is inevitably due, and assuredly we tell the truth. 64 "So leave with your family late in the night, yourself remaining in the rear, and let none turn back to look, and go where you will be commanded." 65 And [through Our messengers] We revealed unto him this decree: "The last remnant of those [sinners] shall be wiped out in the morn." 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 He said: Surely these are my guests, therefore do not disgrace me, 68 And keep your duty to Allah, and shame me not! 69 They said: "Did we not forbid thee (to speak) for all and sundry?" 70 [Lot] said, "These are my daughters - if you would be doers [of lawful marriage]." 71 By thy life (O Muhammad) they moved blindly in the frenzy of approaching death. 72 But the (mighty) Blast overtook them before morning, 73 and We turned it uppermost nethermost and rained on it stones of baked clay. 74 Behold! in this are Signs for those who by tokens do understand. 75 And surely it is on a road that still abides. 76 surely in this there is a sign for those who believe. 77 And indeed the Dwellers of the Woods were unjust. 78 So We chastised them. The desolate locations of both communities lie on a well-known highway. 79
