S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Saad* – By oath of the renowned Qur’an, (Alphabet of the Arabic language; Allah and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 No, the unbelievers exalt in their division. 2 How many a generation We destroyed before them, and they cried out when it was no longer the time for escape! 3 And they (Arab pagans) wonder that a warner (Prophet Muhammad SAW) has come to them from among themselves! And the disbelievers say: "This (Prophet Muhammad SAW) is a sorcerer, a liar. 4 Does he claim that all the deities are [but] one God? Verily, a most strange thing is this!" 5 And the eminent among them went forth, [saying], "Continue, and be patient over [the defense of] your gods. Indeed, this is a thing intended. 6 Never did we hear of [a claim like] this in any faith of latter days! It is nothing but [a mortal man's] invention! 7 To him of all of us has the Reminder been sent down?" They are still in doubt about My admonition; but they have not tasted My punishment yet! 8 Or have they the treasuries of thy Lord's mercy, the All-mighty, the All-giving? 9 Or, is theirs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them? Then let them ascend by (their) means! 10 They will be one more army vanquished among the many routed hordes. 11 Before them (were many who) rejected messengers,- the people of Noah, and 'Ad, and Pharaoh, the Lord of Stakes, 12 And the Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the dwellers of the wood; these were the confederates. 13 Each of them denied the messengers, so My penalty was justified. 14
