Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the swift scatterers 1 and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds,] 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 And the angels who distribute the affair. 4 surely that you are promised is true, 5 And undoubtedly justice will surely be done. 6 By the Sky with (its) numerous Paths, 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless. 11 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 12 [It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs, 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 They slept very little during the night 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 There are signs in the earth for those who are firm in their faith, 20 There is also evidence of the Truth within your own selves. Will you then not see? 21 And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised. 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
