Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 How tremendous is the true event! 2 And what shall make thee know that which the Inevitable Calamity is. 3 Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. 4 So regarding the Thamud, they were destroyed by a terrible scream. 5 And the 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious Wind, exceedingly violent; 6 Which Allah imposed on them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that you could see men lying overthrown (destroyed), as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms! 7 So do you see any survivor among them? 8 And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. 10 Verily We! when the water rose, We bare you upon the traversing ark. 11 So that We may make it a reminder to you, and that the retaining ear might retain it. 12 When a single blow is blown on the Horn, 13 And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow - 14 on that Day the Great Event will come to pass. 15 and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them. 17 On that day all your secrets will be exposed. 18 Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! 19 I was certain I'll be given my account." 20 Then he will be in blissful state 21 in a high Garden, 22 The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. 23 Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did beforehand in the days gone by. 24 But, he who is given his book in his left hand will say: 'Woe to me, would that my book had not been given to me! 25 And not known my account! 26 Would it had been the end! 27 My wealth has availed me nothing: 28 and my authority has been destroyed' 29 (It will be said): "Seize him and fetter him, 30 "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. 31 then fasten him with a chain, seventy cubits long. 32 for he did not believe in Almighty God, 33 and he never urged the feeding of the needy; 34 "So no friend hath he here this Day. 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 that none excepting the sinners eat.' 37
