The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By heaven of the constellations, 1 by the Promised Day, 2 And by oath of the day that is a witness and by oath of a day in which the people present themselves. 3 slain were the Men of the Pit, 4 the fire with its fuel, 5 Behold! they sat over against the (fire), 6 And they, to what they were doing against the believers, were witnesses. 7 And what did they dislike from the Muslims, except that the Muslims accepted faith in Allah the Most Honourable, the Most Praiseworthy? 8 To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, over all things, is Witness. 9 Indeed those who troubled the Muslim men and Muslim women, and then did not repent – for them is the punishment of hell, and for them is the punishment of fire. 10 Those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for them await gardens underneath which rivers flow; that is the great triumph. 11 Indeed, the vengeance of your Lord is severe. 12 It is He who originates and repeats. 13 and He is the Forgiving and Loving One. 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 the Executor of what He wills. 16 Has not there come to you the story of the hosts, 17 Of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and Thamud? 18 And yet, they who are bent on denying the truth persist in giving it the lie: 19 but all the while God encompasses them [with His knowledge and might] without their being aware of it. 20 Nay! This is a Glorious Quran, 21 upon an imperishable tablet [inscribed]. 22
