The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night as it envelops; 1 by the day when it appears radiant, 2 And Him Who hath created male and female, 3 surely your striving is to diverse ends. 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease. 7 But as for one who is miserly and unheeding, 8 And rejects goodness, 9 So We will very soon provide him hardship. 10 and what will his wealth avail him when he goes down [to his grave]? 11 Surely, it is for Us to provide guidance -- 12 And most surely Ours is the hereafter and the former. 13 I have warned you then about a raging Fire: 14 No one will burn in it but the most wretched, 15 who belied and turned away, 16 And avoid it shall the most pious, 17 And gives of his wealth that he may grow in virtue, 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 But only seeking the countenance of his Lord, Most High. 20 And he shall soon be well-pleased. 21
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
