The people of al-Hijr also rejected Our messengers: 80 We showed them miracles but they ignored them. 81 And they hewed houses in the mountains in security. 82 But As-Saihah (torment - awful cry etc.) overtook them in the early morning (of the fourth day of their promised punishment days). 83 Then availed them not that which they had been earning. 84 And We have not created the heavens and earth and that between them except in truth. And indeed, the Hour is coming; so forgive with gracious forgiveness. 85 Your Lord is certainly the All-knowing Creator. 86 And We have certainly given you, [O Muhammad], seven of the often repeated [verses] and the great Qur'an. 87 Do not strain your eyes after what We have given certain classes of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and make yourself gentle to the believers. 88 And say: "I am indeed a plain warner." 89 Like (those) We had sent to those schismatics who slandered their Books 90 Who have made the Quran into parts. (i.e. believed in a part and disbelieved in the other). 91 by your Lord, We shall question them all 92 about what they did. 93 Proclaim then, what you are commanded and turn away from the unbelievers. 94 We shall help you against those who mock you 95 those who set up another deity alongside Allah. They shall soon come to know. 96 We know indeed thy breast is straitened by the things they say. 97 So glorify the praises of your Lord and be of those who prostrate themselves (to Him). 98 and serve thy Lord, until the Certain comes to thee. 99
