The people of Lut belied the sent ones. 160 When their brother Lot said to them: "Will you not take heed? 161 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 164 What, do you come to male beings, 165 "And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!" 166 They said: If you desist not, O Lut! you shall surely be of those who are expelled. 167 He said, "I am one of those who abhors your ways. 168 My Lord! deliver me and my household from that which they work. 169 So We delivered him and his household all. 170 except for an old woman who stayed behind, 171 Then afterward We destroyed the others. 172 And We showered a rain upon them; so what a wretched rain for those who were warned! 173 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 174 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 175
