The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
CONSIDER the sky full of great constellations, 1 by the Promised Day, 2 by the Witness and the witnessed, 3 The companions of the pit were killed 4 Full of fire fed by faggots, 5 When they sat by it, 6 and were witnessing what they did to the believers. 7 And what did they dislike from the Muslims, except that the Muslims accepted faith in Allah the Most Honourable, the Most Praiseworthy? 8 Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things. 9 Those who persecute the believing men and women without repenting will suffer the torment of hell and that of the burning fire. 10 Surely for those who believe and do the right are gardens with rivers running by. That is the greatest success. 11 Indeed, the vengeance of your Lord is severe. 12 It is He Who creates from the very beginning, and He can restore (life). 13 And He only is the Oft Forgiving, the Beloved of His bondmen. 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 Performer of what He desires. 16 Has the story of the armies reached you, 17 the armies of Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 And yet, they who are bent on denying the truth persist in giving it the lie: 19 And Allah encompasses them on every side. 20 Nay! it is a glorious Quran, 21 (Inscribed) in a Tablet Preserved! 22
