Is it not a lesson for the successors of the past generations that had We wanted, We could have punished them for their sins, sealed their hearts and deprived them of hearing? 100 Those were the towns whose story We relate unto you (O Muhammad SAW). And there came indeed to them their Messengers with clear proofs, but they were not such as to believe in that which they had rejected before. Thus Allah does seal up the hearts of the disbelievers (from each and every kind of religious guidance). 101 We did not find many of them faithful to their promises, and found many of them disobedient. 102 After the time of those people, We sent Moses with Our miracles to Pharaoh and his people, but they too rejected Our miracles. Consider, how terrible the end of the evil-doers is! 103 Moses told the Pharaoh, "I am a Messengers from the Lord of the Universe. 104 "I am duty bound to speak nothing of God but the truth I have brought from your Lord a clear sign; so let the people of Israel depart with me." 105 Pharaoh said: if you have brought a sign, then bring it forth if you are truthful.' 106 So Moses threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent, manifest. 107 Then he uncovered his hand and it appeared sheer white to the onlookers. 108
